Influenced by television’s “You’ll Never Get Rich” with Phil Silvers, “Top Cat” debuted September 27, 1961 as Hanna-Barbera’s second prime-time cartoon series (following The Flintstones). Voiced by character actor and comedian Arnold Stang , Top Cat actually a living in a New York City alley trash can seem enviable. The Most Effectual Top Cat is re-created from The Late T.C., the twenty-second of the series’ thirty episodes, and is hand-signed by the creators of the smart-aleck feline and his crew, William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.
