"Smoking Grapes" is a unique piece, done very early in my career. At the time this painting was completed, I could not afford to publish it as I was completing a cigar series, which had been the focus of my work for the previous 12 months. This painting segues to the art that I would become known for. You can see in this image evidence of the evolution of my painting-not only do the grapes not have leaves, these characters do not even have arms!
