December 16, 1950, the Chuck Jones-directed, seven-minute Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon, The Rabbit of Seville, premiered in movie palaces nationwide. It was, according to Chuck Jones, the first of his cartoons in which the music absolutely determined the action.
